Geoff and Helen came to us with a fully documented set of architectural plans from Barker Architects for their new home at Aureus, the masterplanned beachfront community at Skennars Head sitting between Lennox Head and Ballina. The design vision was already well established. What they were looking for was a builder who could deliver it without compromise, with the workmanship, attention to detail and coordination the project deserved.
The home was designed as a two storey residence that made the most of the available footprint while creating a comfortable, functional family environment. Futureproofing was central to the brief. The plans included an integrated elevator, expansive open plan living, four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a pool, with every element considered for everyday liveability.
The overall vision was a refined contemporary coastal home that would still feel relaxed and easy to live in.
The site was relatively level, which kept early works efficient and helped maintain momentum across the build programme. We worked closely with Barker Architects and Luko Hartmann & Associates on the structural side, coordinating the details that mattered through every stage.
Minor refinements came up along the way, as they do on a project of this scale, but the original architectural intent stayed intact. Orientation was a particular focus. The upper level master suite and the main living spaces were positioned to take in the ocean outlook and pull natural light deep into the home.
