Bathroom Renovations

Bathrooms that earn their place.

End to end bathroom renovations across Lennox Head, Ballina and the Northern Rivers, handled by one team from waterproofing to fit-off.

The work

Bathrooms cover the full range: full strip and rebuild, partial refresh, ensuites, master baths, family bathrooms, powder rooms. Some are standalone projects in an otherwise untouched home. Some are part of a larger renovation.

We do them all at the same standard. A small bathroom done properly takes most of the same trades and almost the same level of coordination as a large one. The materials are different, the room is smaller, but the work is the work.

End to end, in one team

A bathroom renovation needs a plumber, a tiler, an electrician, a cabinetmaker, a waterproofer, and depending on the job, a glazier and a plasterer. That’s six or seven trades on a single small room. Coordinating them is most of the job.

When you take on a bathroom renovation as a homeowner without a builder, you usually end up coordinating those trades yourself. Tracking who’s coming when, who’s waiting on whom, whose work depends on whose being finished first. That’s where bathroom renovations tend to drag out.

We coordinate the trades under one schedule. They all work to our timeline. You deal with one team, one point of contact, and one fixed price for the work.

What's involved in a bathroom renovation

Week 1: Strip out, rough plumbing and electrical, structural work if any

Week 2: Waterproofing, screeding, plastering, prep for tiling

Week 3: Tiling (walls and floors), cabinetry install, fixture rough-in

Week 4: Plumbing fit-off, electrical fit-off, glazier, final clean

A full strip and rebuild typically runs three to four weeks of active work, depending on the size and the spec. Roughly:

Larger or more complex bathrooms run longer. Partial refreshes (replacing fixtures and tiles without moving walls or services) can be quicker.

Waterproofing, ventilation, and the things that matter

The visible finish is what most people focus on. The invisible work is what determines whether the bathroom lasts twenty years or starts leaking through the kitchen ceiling in two.

Waterproofing has to be done properly, to the right standard, and signed off. Ventilation needs to actually move the steam out of the room, not just hum in the ceiling. Fall and drainage need to send the water where it’s supposed to go. The substrates under the tiles need to be flat, dry and stable.

None of this is glamorous, and none of it is optional. The bathrooms we’ve built ten and fifteen years ago are still working because we did this part properly.
