Kitchen Renovations

Kitchens that work as hard as they look.

Kitchen renovations across Lennox Head, Ballina and the Northern Rivers, with the surrounding work coordinated under one team.

The work

Kitchen work ranges from cabinet and benchtop replacements in the existing layout, through to full kitchen rebuilds with structural changes, walls coming out, and the kitchen relocating altogether. Some are part of a larger renovation. Some are standalone projects in an otherwise functioning home.

The smaller jobs are still real jobs. A kitchen refresh that fits a tight budget still needs to be done well, because the homeowner is going to use the result every day for the next ten or fifteen years.

The kitchen plus what surrounds it

A kitchen renovation is rarely just cabinets. Most jobs involve flooring (because the existing flooring won’t go under new cabinets, or because the room is being opened up), plastering (the walls behind cabinets are usually old, damaged or both), electrical changes (new circuits for appliances, lighting, sometimes a rangehood), plumbing changes (the sink might move, the dishwasher might be new, the fridge might need a water line), and sometimes structural work (walls coming out, openings going in).

Coordinating that work is half the job. We handle it all under one schedule, with one fixed price for the work, so you’re not chasing five different trades and trying to work out whose job it is when something doesn’t fit.

Working with your cabinetmaker, or finding one

Many clients come to us with a kitchen designer or cabinetmaker already engaged. We’re happy to work alongside them, and we have working relationships with several local kitchen designers and cabinetmakers we’d recommend if you don’t have one yet.

What we contribute is the build side: making sure the cabinets fit the room (which usually means making sure the room fits the cabinets), the services go where they need to, the substrate under the cabinets is right, and the install happens cleanly.

How a kitchen renovation works

A typical kitchen renovation runs four to six weeks of active work on site, depending on scope. Rough flow:

Week 1: Strip out the existing kitchen, structural changes if any, rough plumbing and electrical

Week 2: Plastering, painting prep, flooring (if needed), substrate prep

Week 3: Cabinet install (your cabinetmaker), painting, splashback prep

Week 4: Benchtops template and install, splashback install

Week 5+: Plumbing and electrical fit-off, appliance install, final clean

You’ll be without a kitchen during the build. We talk through how you’ll manage that before we start (temporary kitchen setup, eating arrangements, where the fridge goes for the duration).
